A Week in the Life of Pastor Pat

Sunday. While greeting parishioners after worship, Pastor Pat is chastised by the church matriarch. How dare she include the war in Iraq in the pastoral prayer? Pat never imagined that prayers for world peace were unpatriotic. Herman reminded her that it has been awhile since they have sung "Blessed Assurance."

Monday. There is no heat in the church office--again. Pastor Pat trudges down to the furnace room, pushes the red starter button, and holds it for eight seconds. When the pilot light flames, she sighs with relief and makes a mental note to call the furnace repair people...
