Reformation in the Dominican Republic

The Reformed Church and a growing number of churches in the Dominican Republic (D.R.) are on a journey together. The new relationship—part ecumenism, part mission, part partnership, and still a bit undefined—offers opportunities for growth in both denominations.
This unlikely pairing of a small, mainline denomination and grassroots Pentecostalism grew through Radio Impactante, a ministry developed by RCA pastor Andres Serrano. Dominican by birth, Serrano uses his three Christian radio stations—one in California, one in Texas, and, for the past three years, one in the Dominican Republic—to teach and preach Reformed doctrine and polity, reaching out to Spanish-speaking communities. Serrano’s hugely successful broadcasts have brought people into the church he serves—Iglesia Reformada la Senda in Corona, California—while also reaching listeners worldwide...
