Suggestions for Funding the Church Herald Every Household Plan

We know that most church budgets are already stretched. We also know that most churches know lots of creative ways to raise funds. We offer a few suggestions that might allow your congregation to keep the Church Herald coming to your church's members.

  • If your church uses offering envelopes, add an envelope, requesting $15 for the magazine.
  • Use the Church Herald for your adult education class, and fund a portion of subscriptions from your curriculum budget.
  • Ask an individual or an organization within your congregation to underwrite some or all of the cost of subscriptions, especially for those who are on limited or fixed incomes.
  • Hold a fundraiser: silent auctions, book sales, and spaghetti dinners are great ways to build community and underwrite costs.
  • Ask members to skip one dinner out annually and apply that money toward subscriptions.
  • Collect a special offering.
  • In a prominent place, provide a jar to collect parishioners' change. With occasional reminders, it's not unreasonable to think that members can part with a few dollars in change per month.
